ZOE JAKES KILLER DRILLZ:
Straight belly dance, no hemming and hawing. YOU will drill and sweat and the movement will sink into your body to be taken with u at the end of a very intense 3 hours of dance only Zoe can dish up. Expect new and creative drills that you can take home for your own personal practice. All aspects of movement will be touched on from the inside out, from head to hips, encouraging use of breath, energy, and connection. My wish is to impart a solid foundation of dance movement with high impact and high energy drills to develop strong, versatile dancers that can intelligently handle any belly dance style. incorporating syncopation and isolations of the body.

Intermediate / Advanced
You are the marionette, and music
your strings. The focus of this
workshop is musicality; your
sensitivity to music, and the
quality of being musical. Frédérique
will take you through an analytical
journey of music theory through the
discussion of basic terminology,
and expose you to creative ways on
how to interact to sound and music.
There will be group exercises to
enable you to physically study and
challenge our analysis and apply it
to dance.

DESCRIPTION:
Improvisation without inhibition
allows the choreographer to connect
to their deepest creative self,
which in turn clears the way for
pure invention. Frédérique will
begin with a lecture on
improvisation and experiment with
you on the concepts of shape, space,
and time while moving without
inhibition or cognitive thinking.
Through this you will learn how to
create unique and innovative
movement designs, spatial
configuration, dynamics, and
unpredictable rhythms.
